Legendary rapper Tupac Shakur mother Afeni Shakur (Alice Faye Williams) dies at 69 in Sausalito, California May 2nd,2016 at 10:28pm. According to Fox 29 News and several other news sites the possible cause of death was cardiac arrest. Our love and sympathy goes out to the Shakur family.
Afeni Shakur (Alice Faye Williams) was an Activist, American music businesswoman, philanthropist, and a Black Panther. She has made many guest appearances on many tv shows, lectures, radio shows, and much more. Afeni has also gave the Keynote Address for Vanderbilt’s Commemoration for Black History month February 6th,2007.
One year after her son Tupac’s death she created the Tupac Amaru Shakur Foundation. The foundation is for youth at the The Tupac Amaru Shakur Center for the Arts in Stone Mountain,Georgia. This Center provides programs for youth that express themselves through the arts like acting, dancing,singing,rapping,and creative writing. They also run a day camp for youth ages 12-18 years of age.
Afeni wanted to make changes within her community and even with her passing, she will still continue to live on through those who loved her and they will carry out her legacy and her son.
